Perfect Figures |
If you want to flatten the tummy, you should choose either an empire waist gown – definitely the way to go if you want to hide the stomach area (your main flaw) and make it appear flatter – or one that features a corset-style bodice to make the waist seem smaller and the bust larger. If you want to look taller (when your tinny size is your only flaw) you should stay away from elaborate ball gown style dresses or those that flare out all way to the floor. Instead, opt for an A-line, sheath, or silhouette style dress that helps to draw the eye downward and elongate the figure. Start shopping for shoes and accessories at least 2 months in advance of the prom or formal dance. This way, you can try on your shoes, a bag, and a dress all together at the dress shop. If you change your mind, you can at least return the bag and shoes if time allows, and you will only have to pay the lay away fee rather than getting stuck with an expensive dress no one else would necessarily want. You should plan to choose and purchase your prom dress at least four to six weeks before your prom. Most formal style gowns (including prom dresses) require alterations for a perfect fit, and you will want to allow enough time to complete these alterations or to correct some flaws. Make sure that you don't purchase your dress too far in advance, as before big events you can easily loose and gain weight, from stress or anything else, e.g. periods, boyfriend troubles, stress, season (winter versus spring). A couple of weeks before your prom, you should try on your dress with your shoes, jewelry, make-up, and hairstyle to be sure you like the finished look. You have to walk and move around in your prom dress a little to give it a comfort check. On the night of your prom, put your dress and a "cover-up" (any clean shirt or jacket) on before applying make-up or styling your hair. This will prevent any make-up smudges or product stains on your fabulous prom dress. I remember our first time shopping and ordering anything off the internet. We looked for my daughter style prom dress not too expensive. I heard the horror stories of the flaws of this service (how items would not be delivered on time or at all or in a very poor condition). But in our case I couldn't be happier. We are both very satisfied with the high quality of service, and we know if we left the department store we wouldn't have been satisfied of its price and the best quality of the dress. |
